Artisan Grills: American-Made 304 Stainless Steel

Artisan is a premium American-made gas grill and outdoor kitchen brand from Superior Equipment Solutions (SES Brands), the parent company of Alfresco, based in City of Industry, California. Artisan spec sheets list the grills as Made in the USA.

Artisan grills are built from commercial-grade 304 (18-8) stainless steel with heli-arc welded seams and are certified to the CSA outdoor cooking gas appliance standard (ANSI Z21.58-2022 / CSA 1.6-2022). The same design language runs through the matching side burners, power burner, pizza oven, refrigerator and storage, so a full outdoor kitchen looks like one system.

Three Grill Series, 26" to 42"

Every series uses 304 stainless steel U-burners, ceramic briquettes, a spring-assisted hood, a two-position warming rack and a hood thermometer. The series differ in ignition, lighting and rotisserie features.

• American Eagle (AAEP) – 26", 32" and 36". 9V battery electronic ignition and no lights, so the grill itself needs no electrical outlet. Start with the American Eagle 26" built-in grill or the American Eagle 36".
• Artisan Series (ART) – 32", 36" and 42". 115 VAC electronic ignition and halogen work lights. See the Artisan 36" built-in grill.

How to Choose: Size, Built-In vs. Cart, and Fuel

Size. Cooking area, including the warming rack, is 570 sq in on the 26", 719 sq in on the 32", 818 sq in on the 36" and 966 sq in on the 42". A 26" or 32" grill suits couples and smaller patios; a 36" or 42" grill gives room for larger gatherings and two-zone cooking.

Built-in or cart. Built-in grills drop into an island; the cutout is 19-3/4" deep and 9-1/2" high, and 24-1/2", 30-1/2", 34-1/2" or 40-1/2" wide for the 26", 32", 36" and 42" sizes. In a combustible enclosure you need the matching Artisan insulated jacket. Cart models ship fully assembled with fold-down side shelves and a sliding LP tank shelf, such as the Artisan Professional 36" cart grill.

Fuel. Every grill is offered for liquid propane (LP) or natural gas (NG). Choose the fuel when ordering to match your gas supply.

Gas, power and clearances. Natural gas connects with 1/2" NPT at 5" W.C.; LP uses 3/8" ODF at 10" W.C. for a portable tank or 1/2" NPT at 10" W.C. for a whole-house system. Artisan Series and Professional grills need a 115 VAC outlet under the counter for ignition and lights, while American Eagle runs on a 9V battery. Keep at least 12" from the sides and back to combustible construction.
