Falmec Outdoor Range Hoods for Covered Outdoor Kitchens
Falmec is an Italian range-hood company based in Vittorio Veneto, Italy, with more than 40 years in kitchen extraction. Its Outdoor Collection was launched for the North American market and includes three wall mount hoods: Line Outdoor, Pyramid Outdoor and Zeus Outdoor.
For a homeowner, designer or outdoor-kitchen builder, that means one family of hoods covers three styles and three widths, so you can match the hood to the architecture of your patio rather than the other way around. Every model moves 1200 CFM with two internal 600 CFM motors and is built from AISI 304 stainless steel with a Scotch-Brite brushed finish and hand-polished seams and welds. Each comes in 36", 42" and 48" widths, all 31-1/2" deep.
These hoods are designed for covered outdoor kitchens. Falmec's manuals say not to expose the hood to rain or wind and not to install it in places without a cover, so plan your hood under a solid roof: a covered patio, loggia, pavilion or roofed pergola.
The Falmec Outdoor Range
All three models share the same motor, controls, lighting and filters. The difference is the shape:
- Line Outdoor – an ultra-slim 4-3/4" hood body for a minimal, modern look
- Pyramid Outdoor – a classic pyramid canopy with an 18" hood body
- Zeus Outdoor – a pro-style 18" box hood that can be installed on its own or with the optional full-width Zeus Outdoor chimney kit for a 49-1/2" overall height
Shared Features on Every Model
Whichever style you choose, you get the same proven package:
- 1200 CFM from two 600 CFM internal motors
- 4 fan speeds on a mechanical knob, from low air renewal to rapid extraction
- Warm 3000K LED strip on its own light knob
- Stainless baffle filters that are removable and dishwasher safe
- 110–120V, 60Hz, 680 W max, with a 5 ft grounded cord
How to Choose the Right Hood Width
Falmec does not publish grill-size or BTU guidance for its outdoor hoods. A common rule of thumb in outdoor kitchen design is to choose a hood at least as wide as the cooking surface, and wider when the space allows, because smoke spreads as it rises and outdoor air movement can push it sideways.
Actual widths are 35-15/16" (36"), 41-5/8" (42") and 47-15/16" (48"), all 31-1/2" deep. Measure your grill, side burner or griddle as one cooking zone and compare it to these numbers. If you are between sizes, the wider hood gives more capture area. Also check the 31-1/2" depth against your counter and grill depth, and confirm the wall above the grill can carry the hood: net weights range from 83 lb (Zeus Outdoor 36") to 121 lb (Line Outdoor 48").
Planning Ducting, Mounting Height and Power
All Falmec outdoor hoods are ducted only. Each has a 9-7/8" round top outlet that must connect to metal ductwork vented outside the covered area. Plan the duct route through the roof or wall early, before the ceiling is finished.
Falmec recommends mounting the hood 24" to 35" from the cooking surface to the bottom of the hood; the manual notes that mounting it lower than 24" can void the warranty. A masonry-wall fixing kit is supplied, and other wall types need your installer's assessment.
For power, plan a grounded 110–120V outlet within reach of the 5 ft cord. Falmec says not to use an extension cord.
Care and Cleaning
The stainless baffle filters lift out and are dishwasher safe. Falmec suggests cleaning them about every 30 hours of use and washing them at no more than 140°F without detergent; dishwasher washing may darken the filters over time.
Outdoor cooking often means high-heat searing and heavy smoke, so use speed 3 for strong odors and speed 4 for rapid extraction, then drop back to speed 1 or 2 for everyday cooking.

Falmec FAQs
Can Falmec outdoor range hoods be installed without a roof?
No, plan them for covered outdoor kitchens. Falmec's manuals say not to expose the hood to rain or wind and not to install it in places without a cover, and we found no separate outdoor safety listing in Falmec's documents. Mount the hood under a solid roof such as a covered patio, loggia, pavilion or roofed pergola.
What is the difference between the Line, Pyramid and Zeus Outdoor hoods?
They share the same 1200 CFM dual motor, 4 speeds, 3000K LED strip and stainless baffle filters. The Line Outdoor has an ultra-slim 4-3/4" hood body, the Pyramid Outdoor has a classic canopy with an 18" body, and the Zeus Outdoor is an 18" pro-style box that can take an optional full-width chimney kit.
What size outdoor hood do I need for my grill?
Falmec does not publish grill-size guidance. A common practice is to pick a hood at least as wide as your cooking surface, and wider if space allows. The 36", 42" and 48" models measure 35-15/16", 41-5/8" and 47-15/16" wide and are all 31-1/2" deep.
What stainless steel are Falmec outdoor hoods made of?
Falmec builds the Outdoor Collection from AISI 304 stainless steel with a Scotch-Brite brushed finish, which Falmec describes as highly resistant to corrosion. Like every Falmec outdoor hood, it should be installed under a cover, as the manual requires.
Do Falmec outdoor hoods need to be ducted?
Yes. All three models are ducted only, with a 9-7/8" round top outlet that connects to metal ductwork. They run on 110–120V, 60Hz (680 W max) with a 5 ft grounded cord, and Falmec recommends mounting them 24" to 35" above the cooking surface.
