What Is a Side Burner or Power Burner?
An outdoor side burner is a gas cooktop burner installed next to the grill for sauces, sides and boiling. A power burner is a larger burner built for big pots and woks, from a gentle simmer to a hard boil.
Together they let you cook a full meal outside while the grill handles the main course. This collection includes Artisan and Videl models for islands and carts.
Artisan Side Burners & Power Burner

- ARTP-18PB 18" power burner – a dual inner and outer stainless burner set with independent controls and a removable grate for setting a wok over the flame. Built from heli-arc welded 304 stainless steel.
Videl Fuego Series
- Fuego I – a built-in double side burner for cooking two dishes at once, from reductions to boils.
- Fuego II – a built-in power burner for seafood boils, wok cooking and cast-iron searing.
- Fuego III – a built-in food warmer that holds finished dishes warm until you serve them.
How to Choose a Side Burner
- Cooking style. One burner covers sauces and sides. Two burners let you simmer and boil at the same time. A power burner is the pick for woks, stock pots and boils.
- Power. The ART-SB1 runs on an AA battery. The ARTP-SB2 and ARTP-18PB plug into a 115V outlet under the counter (8 ft cord; GFCI recommended).
- Cutout. ART-SB1: 11" W x 15" D. ARTP-SB2: 12-3/8" W x 22-3/8" D. ARTP-18PB: 16-1/2" W x 22-3/8" D.
- Fuel. Order the same fuel as your grill. The ART-SB1 includes 42" of flexible stainless piping and a tee to connect to the gas supply of the adjacent Artisan grill.
Plan Burners Around Your Grill
Side burners usually sit beside a built-in grill. On a cart grill, Artisan offers mounts: ARTC-SBM-01 for the ART-SB1 and ARTPC-SB2M for the ARTP-SB2.
Below a power burner, the Artisan 24" single drawer stores woks and pots. Browse more outdoor kitchen storage and outdoor range hoods for covered kitchens.

Side Burner & Power Burner FAQs
What is the difference between a side burner and a power burner?
A side burner is sized for everyday pans: sauces, sides and boiling water. A power burner such as the Artisan ARTP-18PB has a dual inner and outer burner set for large pots and woks, and ranges from a simmer to a powerful boil.
Do outdoor side burners need electricity?
Some do. The Artisan ART-SB1 uses AA-battery push-button ignition and needs no outlet. The ARTP-SB2 and ARTP-18PB use 115V electronic ignition with an 8 ft cord, and a GFCI outlet under the counter is recommended.
Can I add a side burner to a cart grill?
Yes, on Artisan cart grills. The ART-SB1 mounts with the ARTC-SBM-01 shelf mount, and the ARTP-SB2 mounts on an Artisan cart grill with the ARTPC-SB2M kit.
Can I cook with a wok on a power burner?
Yes. The Artisan ARTP-18PB has a removable interior grate, so a wok sits directly over the flame. The Videl Fuego II power burner is also designed for wok cooking and seafood boils.
Are these burners available for propane and natural gas?
The Artisan ART-SB1 is offered for LP or NG. Match every burner to the fuel of your grill, and have the gas connection made by a qualified installer.
