How are Sweaty Yeti and Genevas saunas built?

A Sweaty Yeti is built like a small, well-insulated house. It uses 2×4 wall framing with full OSB sheathing, fiberglass batt insulation (R-13 walls, R-30 ceiling and R-30 floor), a Tyvek-type house wrap, board-and-batten fiber-cement siding and lifetime architectural asphalt shingles.

Inside, the sauna room is tongue-and-groove cedar on the floor, walls and ceiling. The roof is rated for a 30 lb per square foot live load as standard, with an upgraded snow load available.

A Genevas uses a different method. The walls, floor and ceiling are 60 mm (about 2.4 in) cross-laminated timber panels, paired with double glazing and thermoalder seating.

No Genevas R-value is published in our product data, so insulation cannot be compared number for number. The looks differ too: big windows and a Nordic shape versus a classic cedar cabin.

Genevas Zermatt modular outdoor sauna exterior

The Genevas Zermatt, the most compact Genevas model, with a sauna room and a separate lounge.

Sweaty Yeti Sauna vs Genevas Zermatt: which entry model is better?

Sweaty Yeti Sauna $29,700 · 8′ × 9′ (72 sq ft) · one sauna room · 4–6 people · 60 A service
Genevas Zermatt $27,900 · 2.2 × 3.2 m (about 7.2 × 10.5 ft) · 7.25 m² (about 78 sq ft) · 4.0 m² sauna room (about 43 sq ft) + 3.25 m² lounge (about 35 sq ft) · up to 5 people · electrical confirmed in your quote

Pick the Sweaty Yeti Sauna if you want the whole footprint to be hot room and plan to change in the house. Pick the Zermatt if a lounge for changing and cooling down matters more.

Sweaty Yeti Sauna Plus vs Genevas St. Moritz: which mid-size model wins?

Sweaty Yeti Sauna Plus $46,400 · 8′ × 17′ (136 sq ft) · sauna + dedicated changing room · 60 A standard, 80 A with mini-split · outdoor shower upgrade published from +$1,773 (cold) or +$2,510 (hot and cold)
Genevas St. Moritz $42,900 · 5.6 × 2.2 m (about 18.4 × 7.2 ft) · 2.4 m (about 7.9 ft) high · 2,500 kg (about 5,500 lb) · 4.4 m² sauna (about 47 sq ft) + 4.4 m² lounge + 1.6 m² shower (about 17 sq ft) · up to 5 people

The Sweaty Yeti Sauna Plus puts a cedar sauna and a changing room in one 8′ × 17′ module.

The St. Moritz is the pick if you want an indoor shower without adding one. Plan water supply and drainage for it.

The Sauna Plus suits buyers who want a cedar cabin with a warm changing room, and the option of a mini-split for heating and cooling (+$6,640 published).

Hosting bigger groups or want a cold plunge?
Sweaty Yeti covers two cases the Genevas models we sell do not: the Sauna Max seats 8–12 people ($46,900, 70 A), and the Sauna Plunge adds a cold plunge room ($51,700, 70 A). Both Genevas models are rated for up to 5 people.

What heater and electrical service does each need?

Every Sweaty Yeti sauna model comes with a HUUM Steel electric heater, a HUUM UKU controller, a temperature sensor and a high-limit safety device. The exact heater rating for your model is confirmed with your final price.

Published electrical service from the Sweaty Yeti Owner’s Manual (a licensed electrician makes the connection):

  • Sauna: 60 A
  • Sauna Plus and Sauna Fit: 60 A, or 80 A with mini-split
  • Sauna Max: 70 A
  • Sauna Plunge and Sauna Plus Barrel Plunge: 70 A, or 80 A with mini-split

Genevas works differently. Electric and wood-fired heaters are presented, but the exact heater, controls, chimney parts, electrical requirements and clearances depend on the configuration approved in your quote.

Ask for the Genevas amperage in writing before your electrician prices the run. Running costs are covered in our guide to outdoor sauna running costs, power and permits.

What does the price include, and what is quoted?

Sweaty Yeti: $29,700 to $55,200
Listed prices are indicative base prices for the finished module, including the HUUM heater on sauna models. Upgrades have published prices. Delivery, set and any crane service come in your written final price, since units are sold FOB factory in Spanish Fork, Utah.

Genevas: $27,900 and $42,900
No heater, chimney, electrical or plumbing connection, foundation, crane, unloading or installation is included unless it is listed in your final quotation. The quote itemizes delivery, any import duties and the unloading method.

For both, local site work (foundation, electrical run, water and drainage) is quoted by your own contractors. Our backyard sauna cost guide breaks those costs down.

How does buying and delivery work for each brand?

Sweaty Yeti starts with a 10% deposit, credited toward your price. Sweaty Yeti then reviews transportation and site access, usually within 4–5 days, and confirms your final price in writing.

If delivery is not feasible, or the order is declined, the deposit is refunded in full. The remaining 90% is due once you approve your final price. KEB Homes is the seller of record, and a licensed general contractor contract or an owner-builder affidavit is required before an order proceeds.

Sweaty Yeti Sauna Plunge finished module exterior

Sweaty Yeti units arrive as one finished module, shown here on the Sauna Plunge.

Genevas starts with a free written quote, and nothing is charged automatically. The deposit, payment schedule and cancellation terms are stated in the quote before you pay.

Genevas estimates about 10–16 weeks from order confirmation for production and delivery. Delivery is to your site, not into final position, unless placement is listed, and someone must be present to inspect it.

Plan for both

  • A stable, level foundation sized for the unit
  • A truck route and, often, a crane or extended forklift
  • Electrical work by a licensed electrician
  • Permits and HOA approval where required (we coordinate plan submittal for Sweaty Yeti)

How do the warranties compare?

Sweaty Yeti structures are covered by the Irontown Homes Limited Warranty, reviewed before you sign. Freeze damage is not covered, so follow the Owner’s Manual winterization steps where freezing is possible.

Genevas includes a 2-year manufacturer limited warranty from the delivery date, covering the CLT panels, thermoalder seating and supplied equipment. It is non-transferable. For either brand, we are your first contact for a claim.

Sweaty Yeti vs Genevas FAQ

Is a Sweaty Yeti or a Genevas sauna cheaper?

As of October 2026, the Genevas Zermatt is listed at $27,900 and the Sweaty Yeti Sauna at $29,700, so the entry prices are close. Neither is a delivered price: delivery, set or unloading, and (for Genevas) the heater package are confirmed in your written price or quote.

Which has more room inside, the Sweaty Yeti Sauna or the Genevas Zermatt?

The Sweaty Yeti Sauna is one 8 by 9 foot room (72 sq ft) for 4 to 6 people. The Zermatt covers 7.25 m² (about 78 sq ft) split into a 4.0 m² sauna room (about 43 sq ft) and a 3.25 m² lounge, for up to 5 people. The Sweaty Yeti has the bigger hot room; the Zermatt adds a lounge.

Can I get a wood-burning heater in a Sweaty Yeti or a Genevas?

Sweaty Yeti sauna models are listed with a HUUM Steel electric heater and HUUM UKU controller; we do not list a wood-fired option. For Genevas, electric and wood-fired heaters are presented, and the exact heater, chimney parts and clearances depend on the configuration approved in your quote.

How long does a Genevas sauna take to arrive compared with a Sweaty Yeti?

Genevas estimates about 10 to 16 weeks from order confirmation for production and delivery, confirmed in your order documents. For Sweaty Yeti, the transportation and site review usually takes 4 to 5 days after the deposit, and build and delivery timing is confirmed with your final price.

Do both brands need a crane for delivery?

Not always, but plan for it. Some Sweaty Yeti sites need a crane or specialized placement equipment, and any crane service is listed on your purchase order. Genevas saunas may need crane or extended-forklift unloading, which you arrange unless your quote includes it.

How do the Sweaty Yeti and Genevas warranties differ?

Sweaty Yeti structures carry the Irontown Homes Limited Warranty, and freeze damage is not covered, so winterization matters in cold climates. Genevas includes a 2-year manufacturer limited warranty that starts on the delivery date; shipping and labor are covered in year one, and parts only in year two.
