Teak Care & Natural Weathering

Teak naturally develops a silver-gray patina when exposed to the elements. This color change is part of the wood’s normal aging process and does not by itself indicate a structural defect. Clean with mild soap and water and follow the manufacturer’s care guidance for the appearance you prefer.

Inside & assembly Available on request

What curbside delivery means: For freight items, the carrier brings the shipment to the curb, driveway, or nearest safe, accessible point — freight drivers do not enter the home. Moving pieces indoors, unpacking, and assembly aren’t part of standard delivery, but inside delivery and assembly can be arranged after you order.

Freight-truck access is required: The LTL carrier must be able to safely reach the delivery location to complete curbside delivery. Narrow roads, restricted entrances, gates, steep approaches, remote routes, or similar conditions can prevent normal freight delivery.

Inspect your delivery: Inspect the cartons, pallet, and visible condition before signing the delivery receipt. Record visible damage on the delivery paperwork, take clear photographs, retain all packaging, and notify Chic Home Deco immediately.

Free shipping covers standard ground or LTL curbside delivery within the 48 contiguous United States and is a limited-time offer. It does not include Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, or international destinations. Inside delivery, room-of-choice placement, and assembly are available as optional services — just ask us after ordering. Additional arrangements may be required when the carrier cannot safely access the delivery location.

Madera Teak Deep Seating Armchair DS-521: Before You Buy

Is the Anderson Teak Madera DS-521 armchair comfortable for long lounging?

Yes, the Madera DS-521 is built for lounging, with an angled back that supports a relaxed seating position, a 5" Sunbrella seat cushion and throw pillows included. It measures 35" wide by 32" deep by 31" high and seats one person. Anderson Teak lists a 16" seat height with cushions for the Madera collection, so it sits low and relaxed rather than upright like a dining chair.

Does the Madera DS-521 armchair match other Madera pieces?

Yes, the Madera DS-521 is part of the Madera collection and shares the same A-grade solid teak and honey golden brown finish as the loveseat, sofa, ottoman and tables. Anderson Teak uses a pair of DS-521 armchairs in the SET-521, SET-522 and SET-524 sets. Pair it with the DS-524 ottoman, which is 35.5" wide, for a matching footrest.

Does the Madera DS-521 need assembly, and how heavy is it?

Yes, the Madera DS-521 requires assembly and weighs about 80 lb, so it ships by LTL freight with curbside delivery by appointment. Once set up, clean the teak with mild soap and a soft brush and avoid high-pressure washing. The frame weathers to silver-gray outdoors unless treated with teak oil or sealer. Store the cushion dry during winter to keep the Sunbrella fabric fresh.
